Product information "Tuning control unit ECU CDI Polini - Vespa 50 4T 3V iGET E5 - Primavera, Sprint, Piaggio Liberty, Zip"
Tuning control unit for de-throttling the Vespa Primavera and Sprint 50 4T 3V iGet Euro5 as well as Piaggio Liberty and Zip

With the introduction of the Euro5 emissions standard, many manufacturers had to make radical changes to their engines in order to meet the requirements of the legislator. The Vespa 50 Primavera and Sprint with the "actually" very powerful 3-valve iGet injection engine were hit particularly hard. At exactly 45 km/h, the engine electronics cut out mercilessly and on the way there you can't really speak of brutal power delivery either.
The engineers have also done a great job in terms of anti-manipulation and so the usual initial tuning steps, such as the installation of a sports variator, are practically useless.

The Polini ECU enables the vehicle's performance to be increased through the use of the latest generation of microprocessors, in synergy with the hardware designed specifically for the engine.

The reinforced valve springs prevent the valves from fluttering at high engine speeds. As a result, up to 10,000 rpm with a corresponding increase in power and speed are possible without hesitation. Anyone who thinks that the Malossi ECU is better because it saves the installation of reinforced valve springs is mistaken! The mapping of the Malossi ECU is comparable to Mapping 2 from Polini. This means that the Malossi engine also revs up to 10,000 rpm and the valves inevitably start to flutter. This has purely mechanical causes and nothing to do with the mapping itself. The only difference is that Malossi has not yet reacted to this.

  • Mapping 1: max. 8,100 rpm (plug & play without reinforced valve springs, **no significant increase in speed)
  • Mapping 2: max. 10,000 rpm (reinforced valve springs are recommended)
  • Mapping 3: max. 10,000 rpm (79cm³, gearbox & reinforced valve springs are recommended)
  • Mapping 4: max. 10,000 rpm (like mapping 3, but especially for Piaggio Zip 50)
    Tuning article without road licence!

Safety note: If a sidestand with switch has been retrofitted, the ignition interruption via the switch is no longer supported. We recommend converting to an automatically retracting side stand or removing the side stand.

*The installation of the reinforced valve springs must be carried out by a specialist, as the cylinder head may have to be removed depending on the workshop's equipment!

**This mapping more or less only serves the option of being able to throttle the vehicle back to an almost standard condition. The rev limiter at 8,100 rpm, which is slightly higher than the standard setting, is unfortunately a little rough.
